ROSCOMMON HERALD - DATE:

Arigna Fuels has just been presented with the Highly Commended for
2003 Award for Best Business / Arts Sponsorship in Kind, in collaboration
with the Roscommon County Arts Office, Art@Work Programme.
“Art@Work”
is best described as a residential programme where artists, financed
by the Roscommon Arts Office and the Arts Council, spent three weeks
in a business in Roscommon. Klaus Vormehr, a contemporary music
composer, accepted residence in Arigna Fuels. It is also of interest
that Klaus works as a full time percussion and music facilitator
nationwide.
The
type of medium chosen to integrate work and art in Arigna Fuels
was immediately found to be quite novel and stimulating. The artist
recorded sounds from all parts of the plant, integrating and discussing
his work with the various team members. This programme allowed a
completely different angle to be taken in perceiving the sounds
produced in the plant. It was also of particular interest that this
was created into a highly unique percussion musical piece. Klaus
was also accompanied by Annabel Langrish taking a series of photos
to provide a visual focus during exhibitions.
Arigna
Fuels is very proud to have participated in this programme and has
both enjoyed and benefited from the experience of the integration
of “Art@Work.”
The
Arigna Fuels production plant is located on the border of counties
Leitrim and Roscommon, employing a team of over fifty people. Arigna
Fuels was established to focus on the development of low smoke and
smokeless fuels, with the aim of protecting the environment in Ireland.

SLIGO
WEEKENDER - DATE: 04/02/03
Sligo port plays major role for Cosyglo Smokeless
This
week, there was a special cargo of coal which was never brought
to Ireland before. This was shipped in from New Zealand by Arigna
Fuels for its special quality of low ash content. This will be used
in the production of Arigna Fuel's premium quality smokeless fuel,
Cosyglo.
"Arigna
Fuels is one of the largest users of Sligo port, with one ship in
this week and another ship arriving next week" explains Peter
Layden, Managing Director of Arigna Fuels.
Cosyglo
Smokeless is important for Sligo, as the town is one of four going
smokeless in October 2003; Bray, Kilkenny, Sligo and Tralee. In
addition, Arigna Fuels has also agreed to promote the use of cleaner
fuels in Athlone, Carlow, Clonmel and Ennis. This is with the aim
of having the cleanest air in urban Europe. To date, there have
already been very positive results in Dublin and previous groups
of towns which have already gone smokeless.
As
part of Sligo's changeover, Arigna Fuels are hoping that Cosyglo
will become as popular in Sligo as other smokeless towns in Dublin
and Cork. This is sold under other brand names, most notably Cosyglo
Gems by Bord na Móna (Hunters). Cosyglo is highly unique
in that it is the only Irish produced smokeless fuel, with the Arigna
Fuels production plant located on the border of counties Sligo,
Leitrim, and Roscommon, employing a team of over fifty people.
Fires
have been and always will be the centre point of the Irish home.
It is also noted that a real solid fuel fire is beneficial for people
with asthma. In addition, Cosyglo is smokeless, cleaner and more
convenient to handle, has lower ash and gives more heat for your
euro. Using Cosyglo as a high quality solid smokeless fuel would
translate into cleaner air, meaning healthier living for everyone. |

TRALEE
ADVERTISER - DATE: 06/02/03
Irish made Cosyglo Gems helping Tralee to go smokeless.
You can breath easy now, as Cosyglo Gems are helping Tralee in
its plan to become smokeless in October 2003.
"Cosyglo
Gems are definitely the best value and the highest quality smokeless
solid fuel," states Dermot Crowley of Bord NA Mona, Tralee.
Cosyglo
Gems are the only Irish produced smokeless fuel, with the Arigna
Fuels production plant located on the border of counties Leitrim
and Roscommon, employing a team of over fifty people. Arigna Fuels
was established to focus on the development of low smoke and smokeless
fuels, with the aim of protecting the environment in Ireland,
including Tralee.
Sligo,
Kilkenny and Bray are also joining Tralee in becoming smokeless
in October. In addition to this, Arigna Fuels is also promoting
the use of smokeless solid fuels in Athlone, Carlow, Clonmel and
Ennis. These developments will result in Ireland having the cleanest
air in Europe. There have already been very positive results from
Dublin, as well as other towns already gone smokeless.
There
is nothing more relaxing in the home than a real open fire. A
real solid fuel fire is also beneficial for people with asthma,
creating a natural flow of air through the house. Smokeless fuels
such as Cosyglo Gems give all the benefits of a real fire, as
well as helping to protect the environment. This will mean cleaner
air, resulting in healthier living for everyone in Tralee.
